Erin Northern lives and plays in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She was her city’s representative for the 2009 Women of the World Poetry Slam Championship and will be a showcase poet at the 2011 Atlanta Queer Literacy Festival. Her work has been published in Adobe Walls 2: An Anthology of New Mexico Poetry and Feminism Now! Erin is a founding co-organizer of OUTSpoken, Albuquerque’s first quarterly Queer Poetry Slam and Open-Mic. She also creates safe spaces for queer voices by facilitating writing workshops for youth in NM schools and community organizations. Erin enjoys hiking, asking questions, and teaching fifth grade.
