Ai is the author of several books of poetry, including Dread (W. W. Norton & Co., 2003), Vice (which won the National Book Award for Poetry), Greed, Fate, Sin (which won an American Book Award from the Before Columbus Foundation), Killing Floor (which won the 1978 Lamont Poetry Award from the Academy of American Poets), and Cruelty. She has also received awards from the Guggenheim Foundation, the National Endowment for the Arts, and the Bunting Fellowship Program at Radcliffe College. She held the Mitte Chair in Creative Writing for 2002-2003 at Southwest Texas State University and is a full professor of English at Oklahoma State University.
